Popular Austin Engagement Shoot Locations


Austin has no shortage of great backdrops for an engagement session, and we've shot most of them — sunrise over Lady Bird Lake with the skyline behind you, the grand staircase and grounds at the Texas Capitol, the historic Georgetown courthouse square, and quieter spots like tree-lined trails and downtown murals. Some couples want a single classic location; others want two or three different looks in one session — a relaxed outdoor set followed by something more dressed-up downtown. We plan the locations and timing around golden hour whenever possible, since that's when Austin light looks its best. Engagement shoots aren't limited to Austin — we regularly travel for sessions in Houston and Dallas too, and we've shot proposal and engagement photos as far as Cincinnati, Ohio for couples who wanted us specifically. How long does a typical session run?

Most engagement and couple sessions run 60–90 minutes, enough time for 1-2 outfit or location changes without feeling rushed.


When should we schedule our engagement shoot?

Most couples do it 2-3 months before the wedding — early enough to use the photos for save-the-dates or invitations, but close enough that your look hasn't changed.


Do you travel for engagement shoots outside Austin?

Yes — Houston and Dallas are both regular destinations, and we've traveled further for the right couple. Just mention your location when you reach out.
